Drew Torbin
Chief Executive Officer, Black Bear Energy Inc.

Drew Torbin is the CEO of Black Bear Energy Inc., a buyer’s agent for commercial and industrial renewable energy.  Together with Rocky Mountain Institute and Carbon War Room, Mr. Torbin launched Black Bear to accelerate the adoption of clean energy by large property owners and users.  Black Bear assists clients with identification and procurement of solar, energy storage and other renewable energy and clean technology projects within their real estate portfolio.  Black Bear’s clients own, manage or control over 2.5 billion square feet of property throughout the U.S.  

Prior to starting Black Bear, Mr. Torbin founded and led the renewable energy group at Prologis, the global leader in industrial real estate.  During his tenure the group deployed over 120 megawatts of distributed solar projects across North America, Europe and Asia.

Before Prologis, Mr. Torbin held positions at Litchfield Capital Management, LLC, a U.S. equity long/short hedge fund, and at Wells Fargo.  

Mr. Torbin received his M.B.A. with a concentration in Finance from the University of Pittsburgh and his B.S. from the University of Colorado at Boulder.  He is also a graduate of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory’s Energy Executive Leadership Program and serves on the Colorado New Energy Improvement District board.
